Stevenson Waterfront Enhancement Project
In line with the Port’s mission to drive economic growth for our county and our Comprehensive Scheme of Harbor Improvements, this project will:
- Create accessible viewing areas of the Columbia River Gorge
- Provide public access to the river
- Connect existing trails to make the river bank and the city more accessible to pedestrians
- Maximize the connection between tourism at the river front and Stevenson downtown businesses
Once restoration of the shoreline is complete, this project will provide the city of Stevenson with a new public access point to the river, lighted walking paths with scenic vistas, and the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail and the National Park Service Ice Age Floods National Geological Trail will be connected and complete with signage, information kiosks, public parking, public restrooms, play structures, and public art installations.
It is the goal of the Port to begin soliciting bids for this project as early as Spring 2018. Stay tuned!
